Regional Nonprofit Academy Set for November 1st
The Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF), the Stackpole-Hall Foundation, and the Community Education Center of Elk and Cameron Counties (CEC) is inviting all staff, board members and volunteers from nonprofits, municipalities and public entities from around the region to attend the Nonprofit Academy. The event is a one-day local professional development opportunity. Topics include “990 Hot-spots,” “Planned giving,” “Grant writing tips,” “Working with younger generations,” “Strategic planning,” and “Board governance.” Fr. Herald Brock, CFR, will be providing the keynote address titled “With a Face, a Heart, and a Name.” Fr. Brock has extensive experience working with impoverished populations around the world and the many agencies that serve them. The two foundations and the CEC began offering this event in 2012 and offered it annually through 2017. Kate Brock, executive director of the CEC said they developed the event “because we wanted to help local nonprofits and public entities learn how to become stronger organizations and how to make bigger impacts with the funds they receive.” Paula Eddy, executive director of the Elk County Community Foundation realized these organizations “needed something close to home and at a reasonable price where we bring experts to the nonprofits.” The Stackpole-Hall Foundation will also highlight some of the early findings from its Long-Range Planning process. “This process is key to the Foundation understanding more about the most vital needs of our communities and we want to make sure our area agencies and nonprofits have as much help to address those needs as necessary,” said Jen Dippold, executive director of the Stackpole-Hall Foundation.
The event is taking place on November 1, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Parish Center, beginning at 8:00am. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information about this event and to register, please go to http://www.elkcountyfoundation.org.
