CEC Offering No School Day and After School Middle School STEM Programs
The Community Education Center is thrilled to announce its upcoming series of innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Math) programs tailored for middle school students. The new initiatives are set to engage students by offering an immersive learning experience that nurtures problem solving and critical thinking through curiosity and creativity.
Designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, the upcoming programs aim to instill a passion for scientific exploration and critical thinking among students aged 11 to 14. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and interactive hands-on activities, the CEC DISCOVER STEM Program seeks to empower young minds and equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven world.
“We are excited to introduce our latest series of STEM programs for middle school students,” said Kaitlyn Goode, CEC STEM Education Assistant. “Our mission is to cultivate a love for learning in STEM fields by providing students with hands-on experiences that spark their imaginations and encourage them to think creatively. We aim to inspire a new generation of problem-solvers and innovators.”
The upcoming middle school initiatives will include after school programs at the middle schools in each community throughout Elk and Cameron Counties, plus various “no school” day programs on days that school is closed. Additional programming will be offered at community libraries and community centers at various times throughout the year. Students will have the opportunity to delve into various STEM disciplines, including robotics, computer programming, environmental science, and more, fostering a holistic understanding of the interconnected nature of these fields.
