Families across Elk and Cameron County are invited to step into a world of imagination, exploration, and hands-on learning during “The Magical World of Elk County,” a Harry Potter–themed Remake Learning event running May 1 through May 23.
Designed for school-aged children and their families, this county-wide experience transforms everyday locations into magical destinations filled with interactive quests, creative challenges, and engaging workshops. Participants will travel throughout Elk County completing themed activities, discovering new places, and learning together along the way.
The adventure begins at local libraries, where families can pick up their official Adventure Guide—their passport to a variety of self-guided quests and special events.
A Magical Experience Across the County
Participants can enjoy a range of self-guided themed activities, including:

  • Hogwarts Library: Create and take home your own potions
  • Quidditch Pitch: Build a project using energy concepts
  • Magical Creatures Quest: Explore nature and identify forest creatures
    In addition to the self-guided quests, families can participate in:
  • Bonus Treat Stops: Optional sweet treats and drinks available at select locations
  • Wizarding Workshops: Special one-day events hosted throughout the three-week experience
    Earn Prizes Through Participation
    Each completed quest earns participants an entry into the House Cup Prize Package, which includes:
  • Clarion River Outdoors “Water Adventure” : Includes- four (4) all-day kayak rentals, PFDs, paddles, and shuttle service to the adventure destination of their choice on the Upper Clarion River Water Trail
  • Ridgway Fireman’s Carnival Advanced Ride Tickets
  • A LEGO “Build Your Own Hogwarts Castle” kit
  • A CEC Discover Partnership summer program registration gift certificate and cinch bag
    “The Magical World” is all about bringing families together through creativity, exploration, and community connections,” said Courtney Rieger, event organizer. “We’re excited to offer an experience where learning feels like an adventure.”
    Community-Wide Collaboration
    This unique event is made possible through the collaboration of local libraries, businesses, and organizations across Elk and Cameron County, all working together to create an immersive and memorable experience for families.
